Professional Indoor Football LANDS IN MASSACHUSETTS for the 2025 season
FITCHBURG, WALLACE ARENA SELECTED BY THE ENTERTAINMENT FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION
Fitchburg, MA: From the beautiful Fitchburg Sports Complex, Game On! Today, league officials, including ENTFLA Commissioner and Hall of Famer Andre Reed, formally announced that the Entertainment Football Association has selected Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and Wallace Arena as the second location for its inaugural 2025 season. Fitchburg now joins the already announced Danbury, Connecticut, which was launched last month.
The ENTFLA will introduce a unique professional football and concert series in each community where the league plays, starting in late May 2025. Each team, including Fitchburg, will host four home games in addition to traveling for four away contests. The regular season will conclude with a ninth game played between two ENTFLA teams at a neutral site identified for its potential as a future expansion community. Two rounds of playoffs will follow in early August after the regular season concludes in late July. Additional sites for the two remaining inaugural 2025 season teams have been identified and will be announced in the coming months, with the league retaining ownership of all teams.
This impressive level of football will feature former Division I and III college players, some of whom may have NFL experience, looking to extend their playing careers and catch the attention of scouts from higher levels of football, including the CFL, UFL, and, of course, the NFL. Unique rules designed to engage fans, such as the 7-on-7 format with a reduced play clock and the elimination of kicking, will force teams to “go for it” on fourth down and try for two-point conversions—adding to the excitement of this new league.
But it’s much more than just football! From pre-game tailgate parties to acrobatic halftime acts and post-game autograph sessions, fans will have the opportunity to meet players, cheerleaders, and coaches right on the field after each contest. This is true entertainment! Perhaps the best part will be the high-level concerts that will follow each game on the field. “No reason to head out after the two-hour, near-NFL-quality football game because a nationally recognized music act will be up next!” explained league founder Douglas Freeman.
League officials also called upon the community to assist in naming the team. “This is Fitchburg’s team; we want the people of this community to name it,” stated league commissioner Andre Reed. “We love this community, its arena, and the people who run them, so we look forward to making this team and these events something that Fitchburg can be proud of.”
Season tickets are also on sale today, where a small deposit will guarantee fans first choice of seat locations for both the football games and the concerts.
